What are general candle care and wick trimming best practices?
Glad you asked! Probably the most important part of being a candle connoisseur is caring for your candle!
- With a wick trimmer, trim the wick to ¼” before lighting it every time. This simple step can make all the difference in the longevity and clean burning of your candle. It will also help keep your space smelling wonderful without any unwanted soot.
- Avoid excessive burn time, no more than 4 hours is recommended.
- Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable objects (furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.).
- Never leave a burning candle unattended or lit while sleeping.
- Allow the candle to melt to the edge of the vessel, especially the first time you light it. This prevents future tunneling.
- Keep out of reach of pets and children.
- Don't burn the candle all the way down. For safety measures, stop burning the candle when there is 1/2" of wax left in the vessel.
- If the flame seems high or the container is too hot in the midst of burning, simply extinguish the flame, let it cool down, trim the wick and restart.
- Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle as it’s the safest way to put out a candle flame.
What do I do if my wooden wick isn't holding the flame?
Simply extinguish the flame, let it cool down, and trim the wick to ¼”, or in other words, remove the black parts of the wick and it should burn better.
Why Coco Apricot Creme Wax?
Our candles use the luxurious Coco Apricot Crème wax that is gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free, and come from renewable sources. This wax is a blend of natural apricot, coconut, soy, and a minuscule amount of highly refined food-grade paraffin wax. The entire blend utilizes only FDA approved waxes. Why do you use wooden wicks?
Not only do they provide the auditory benefit of a subtle crackling sound, but our wooden wicks are also organic, non-toxic, and eco-friendly. They are sourced from FSC-certified mills, which ensures that the wood used is responsibly harvested and sustainable. This means that you can enjoy your candles with a clear conscience knowing that you are supporting environmentally conscious practices.
Another advantage of our wooden wicks is that they are made in the USA, ensuring that you are supporting local businesses and reducing the carbon footprint associated with importing materials from overseas. All of these benefits make wooden wicks an excellent choice for anyone looking for a sustainable and high-quality candle experience.
Can I reuse my container? How?
Yes please! Thank you for reusing it! To remove any leftover wax, place the container in your freezer for a few hours and then dislodge the wax. Next to remove the wick, rock the wick holder back and forth to wiggle it free (this will take some elbow grease). Finally, clean your container and you’re all set!
With our neutral color containers, they can easily blend into your space. Some great ways to reuse your containers are:
- Desk accessory such as a pen or pencil holder
- Mini planter (make a drainage system inside or drill a hole)
- Cosmetics storage on your bathroom counter such as makeup brushes, sponges, and cotton balls
Shipping Policy
How long will my order take to arrive?
We will generally process your order within 2-3 business days. After that, shipping times are between 3-7 business days.
If an item goes out of stock, you will be contacted for replacement or refund options. Your tracking number will be included in the shipping confirmation email you receive at the time your package is shipped out.
What is your Shipping Policy?
Once the package has left LaSoph headquarters and is in the hands of the shipping carrier, the company is not responsible for delivery delays due to inclement weather, if a package is not able to be delivered due to address errors, or other unforeseen shipping courier related delays.
At this time, we are unable to ship Internationally, APO addresses, PO boxes, and freight-forwarding companies.
Returns and exchanges
If I burn my candle and I don’t like it, can I exchange it?
Unfortunately we will not be able to accept exchanges for used items. Please review our full Return Policy here, including our policy for exchanges.
How do I ship my order back to you?
If you are returning your items, you will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for the returning item(s). Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping the original items to you will be deducted from your refund.
If you are exchanging your items, that may be done for a flat fee of $20 which includes shipping & handling for the return item(s) and exchange item(s).
